Brazilian Chestnut (Sucupira), hardness – 3450, thickness: – 3/4″, width – 4″, grade – Select & Better.
Brazilian Chestnut, also known as Sucupira, is an extremely hard, dense wood with a tan to brownish-red colour. Like most other exotics, Brazilian Chestnut is photosensitive, and will darken with exposure to UV-light (sunlight). Brazilian Chestnut is less sensitive to light as compared to exotics such as Brazilian Cherry, so it will retain a more brown/tan overall colour with some red highlights.
