Which type of flooring should I use in the different areas of my house?

You can’t install the same flooring on every level.

While solid hardwood is mostly suited to the main or second floor of your house, engineered hardwood and laminate can be installed on any level, including the basement.

Solid hardwood is nailed or stapled into a plywood subfloor, while laminate and engineered wood can be installed on top of a pre-existing tile or even solid hardwood.
