Popular Flooring Types We Offer
Stylish, attractive and durable, hardwood is one of the most popular flooring options among homeowners and realtors. From exotic white oak (in matte or semi-gloss finish) to Appalachian birch in beach sand colour, we offer a range of hardwood flooring materials.
Made from both solid wood and plywood layers, engineered hardwood is a durable and affordable flooring option. From the 3-Ply (three-layered) and High-Density Fibreboard (HDF) variety to distressed and wire-brushed finish, we offer different engineered flooring options.
Affordable, attractive and versatile, laminate is the go-to flooring option for many homeowners and interior designers. We offer a range of laminate flooring options in various colours, designs, plank sizes and thicknesses. No matter what kind of look you want, we stock it all.
A relatively new type of flooring material, bamboo is popular for its beauty, durability, moisture resistance, and insulating properties. We offer a range of bamboo flooring products, including engineered or solid planking, as well as regular or strand-woven varieties. From design to installation, we do it all.
Resilient like linoleum and beautiful like real hardwood, cork is an increasingly popular flooring option among both homeowners and contractors. Check out our diverse range of cork flooring designs and colours so you can choose the one that best fits your tastes and requirements.

Debbie R. BrooksDifferent Flooring Installation Methods
Installing your flooring properly is as important as choosing a quality material. Poor installation results in cracks, warping and peeling, and shortens its lifespan. From underlayment to baseboards, from floor moulding to trims, there are many minor details that need to be taken care of. At AA Floors, our workers have years of experience and are thoroughly skilled in all types of installation methods, so you can enjoy attractive and durable floors for years to come.

The flooring installation method used will vary depending on the kind of material you’ve chosen and the type and condition of your subfloor. Here are some of the most common flooring installation methods used by AA Floors, each employing the correct procedures, tools and approach.
- Nail-Down
This is the most common installation method for both solid and engineered hardwood flooring. We use a special technique, known as blind nailing, to make sure the planks are tightly attached to the subfloor. This procedure is used along with tongue-and-groove planks to hide the nails.
- Gluing Down
This installation method is often used for solid and engineered hardwood where a subfloor is present. Since the process involves attaching the material directly to the subfloor using a special adhesive, preparing the subfloor is an important factor. Only experienced flooring professionals can manage this type of installation.
- Floating
This installation process is typically used for laminate, vinyl and engineered wood flooring. Here, the floor planks fit or click together like a jigsaw puzzle, without using glue or nails. This style is ideal in places where there is an existing floor that’s difficult to remove, as it can be laid directly on top of the existing surface.

FAQ
Common questions answered about flooring installation, care and repair
-
What’s the best way to clean hardwood floors?
As with other types of flooring, regular cleaning is important to keep hardwood in its best shape. A quick sweep at day’s end makes sure that there are no dust, dirt, grime or food crumbs left. Use a microfiber dust mop to remove the remaining debris or dust. The better the vacuum, broom or dust mop, the longer your hardwood floors will last.
-
Can I reuse laminate floors?
Yes, you can. Just make sure that when you’re taking off the planks that you leave the tongue and groove portion unaffected. If they’re broken or damaged, you may have to replace the planks.
-
Is it advisable to use a vinyl floor soon after installation?
No. Avoid walking on your vinyl floor for at least 24 hours after installation. Not doing so can prevent the glue from setting, thus damaging the seams. For better strength and durability, avoid mopping until five or six days after installation.
